Sixth Form PSHE Programme

    All Sixth Form students receive dedicated PSHE time each week during which our specialist Sixth Form tutors cover a wide range of topics, skills and activities.

    The aims of our PSHE programme are:

      To support every pupil to become a confident, healthy, considerate, responsible young adult.
      To help equip each pupil with the knowledge and skills to make informed choices.
      To provide opportunities for pupils to reflect on their own learning and achievements.
      To help students identify their own personal development targets.
      To develop skills of enquiry and communication.

    To promote pupils moral, social, spiritual and cultural development, increasing their self-confidence

    In Year 12 our focus is initially on making a smooth transitions in Post 16 study and helping provide the students with the capacity to learn independently, how to set and track their own academic targets and to help them manage their time more effectively. Through the year other areas are covered such as healthy eating, drug & alcohol awareness, debating, personal finance and first aid are also covered.

    In Year 13 support and advice in selecting and applying for University places or employment are a major focus along with Careers advice and exposure to a range of Post 18 options available.  In addition to this the students receive practical advice and session on how to revise, exam technique and how to manage stress, with the option to discover meditation & relaxation techniques.

    All our sixth form benefit from a range speakers and guests to inform and inspire them to achieve their potential.
